Winter/Spring 2011
It has been quite a wild winter out on the Oregon coast with all the rain and heavy flooding we have had. Driving through the Van Duzer corridor the other day I was amazed at the raging Salmon River. Naturally I thought it was beautiful but I am not one of the unlucky ones dealing with the flood waters. But the sun is back out now and the rivers are receding and soon Spring will be on her way. The winter aconites and helleobores are starting to bloom and it won't be long now until Spring is here.
Serenity Prayer Rug
Time now for me to focus on the upcoming craft show season. I have some new and exciting things planned. I will be having my first public art exhibit on July 19-October 18, 2011 at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. This will be a solo exhibit of 12-14 pieces and will be curated and co-sponsored by the Clackamas County Arts Alliance. I will also have a smaller exhibit on December 8, 2011- March 8, 2012 in the lobby of the Development Services Building for Clackamas County which is also curated and co-sponsored by the Clackamas County Arts Alliance. The work for these 2 exhibits will be mixed media mosaics like the "Serenity Prayer Rug" shown here. Many pieces will also feature authentic Kutch embroidered lace from the Gujarat region in India.
I also hope to do some summer craft shows. I plan to once again be at the Oregon Country Fair the second weekend in July if I am lucky enough to get a booth space again and to once again be at the Corvallis Fall Festival in late September. Applications are in the works for one or two more festivals. Keep checking back here for details and confirmations to follow. These pieces are all created using 14K Gold or 22K White Gold. Pendants can be purchased with a Sterling Silver Chain or Silk Cording. All pendants and earrings can be set in sterling sliver or antiqued brass finishes. Finished price will depend on materials chosen and chain/cording material supplied.
